The Great Big Bike Ride on Sunday 24th September 2017 at Shawbury Village Hall, Church Street, Shawbury SY4 4NH, with the fantastic support of Ironbridge Clarion Cycling Club.
This year, there will be two routes, a 50km and a 100km which will both explore the beautiful North Shropshire countryside.
In 2016 the Great Big Bike Ride raised over £22,000 which went directly to care for local people and their families in Shropshire & Mid-Wales. This year we want to beat that total so we are asking all participants to raise a minimum of £30.00 for both rides.
Registration opens at 9:00-9:30am for the 100km route and 10:00-10:30 for the 50 km route.
All participants will start from Shawbury Village Hall, undertake the first loop of 50km, travelling back to Shawbury Village Hall. The 100km participants will then go out on the Second loop of 50km and finish at Shawbury Village Hall.
Details of the routes can be found in the links below:
50km route / First loop of the 100km ride
If you have taken on our Great Big Bike Ride before, please note that this year’s route and direction might be different to when you last did it; make sure you stay on track and only use this year’s directions.
For your safety and for that of the other participants, on the day if you have not completed the first 50km of the route by 1.00pm you will not be able to continue on the second loop.
Please note that only 18s or over can take part in the 100km ride. If you are under 16 and would like to take part in the 50km ride you must be accompanied by an adult.
